Graphic Design Specialization

About this Specialization

Graphic design is throughout us, in a myriad of kinds, each on display screen and in print, but it’s at all times made up of photos and phrases to create a communication aim. This four-course sequence exposes college students to the elemental expertise required to make subtle graphic design: course of, historic context, and communication by image-making and typography. The sequence is accomplished by a capstone challenge that applies the talents of every course and peer suggestions in a completed branding challenge appropriate for an expert portfolio.

The aim of this specialization is to equip learners with a set of transferable formal and conceptual instruments for “making and speaking” within the area of graphic design. This core talent set will equip learners for formal research in graphic design, and a place to begin for additional work in interface design, movement graphics, and editorial design.
