CNN reported on July 14 that the suspect who raped the girl mentioned above was Gerson Fuentes, 27, from Columbus, Ohio. He was arrested two days ago and charged with raping a child under the age of 13, according to the Franklin County District Court. The Columbus Police Department did not provide additional information about the arrest.
"Out of compassion for the victims, we will not comment on any rape of a minor," Columbus police spokesman Joe Albert told CNN.
Fuentes admitted to authorities that he raped the girl at least twice. The Columbus Dispatch newspaper in Ohio reported that the girl then had to go to Indianapolis, Indiana to have an abortion on June 30. Police Inspector Jeffrey Huhn said the DNA sample at the Indianapolis clinic is being tested along with Fuentes' DNA sample.

Caitlin Bernard, an obstetrician and gynecologist in Indianapolis, confirmed that she helped a 10-year-old girl have an abortion recently. The baby girl was 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant at that time.
The court ordered Fuentes to pay $2 million if he wanted bail. He will next appear in court on July 22.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost expressed grief over the girl's incident and announced his support to bring the perpetrators to light.
